Music Teacher
In 1997, I graduated from Booneville High School. After graduation, I attended Arkansas Tech University for two years on a full paid vocal scholarship while parpticipation in the Music Education program. Later in 2004, I attended the University of Arkansas Fort Smith where I recieved my assoicates of Arts degree as well as my Bachelors in General Studies with an emphasis in English and Anthropology.
This is my 5th year to teach for Mansfield Schools. I had been a substitute teacher for over ten years for Mansfield previously. I am so excited to be teaching! I will be at the High School for periods 1-3, teaching Music Appreciation, Junior and Senior High Choir, and coaching Senior High Debate. For the remainder of the day, I will be at the elementary school teaching music to grades K-4th grade.
For the past 20 years, I have given private vocal lessons as well as piano lessons. I have been a vocal coach for students who are applying for college vocal scholarships as well as a Fine Arts Coach. I have had the privilege of performing on the Dr. Pepper Stage at Old Fort Days Rodeo and various churches. I have been blessed with amazing opportunities and sung the National Anthem for our American Troops who returned home from Iraq, the Old Fort Days Rodeo, College of the Ozarks, and other baseball/basketball/football games. Music has been my passion for many years, and I have been blessed with many amazing opportunities to work with kids of all ages to further their musical and vocal abilities. I look forward to working with the students in the Mansfield School District!
Hello! I am originally from Booneville, but I moved to Mansfield about 13 years ago. I have four beautiful children. My oldest daughter is Oliviannea, and she is a graduate from Mansfield. She is now a 5th grade teacher. My second daughter, Abbigale, is in High School, and she loves volleyball and softball. My oldest son is Thomas, and he is in Middle School. He loves basically any sport, being outside, and plays football, baseball, and basketball. My youngest son, Remington, is in elementary. He loves sports, doing flips, and being outside too! We are a sports family and we love the lake. However, music is a big passion in our family. Someone is always singing or playing an instrument. I look forward to to meeting you!
As a family, we love to be outdoors, camping, swimming, and fishing. I also love to go running or long walks, cook, paint and write. One fun fact: Previously, I worked for our local Resident Press Newspaper. I was a writer for the lifestyle and food/recipes categories.
Our entire family also loves music! We always have some kind of music on the car radio blarring, and the family is jammig to it no matter where we are headed! I play piano. All of my kids sing as well. Music is a major part of our lives, and I don’t even like to clean my house without music playing!
I am so excited to finally get to teach music for Mansfield Schools!
