Renewing Schools
The Mansfield School District is proposing a 5.98 mill increase to fund a thoughtful and much-needed campus improvement project that will benefit students, families, and the entire community for years to come.
What’s Being Proposed?
The project includes new additions to both the High School and Elementary School:
• 11,680 square feet added to the High School
• 15,564 square feet added to the Elementary School
The additions will include classrooms, restrooms, therapy rooms, self-contained classrooms, and art rooms. The improvements will support inclusive learning environments and enhanced safety.
Why Now?
Currently, the district operates three separate campuses. With current enrollment numbers, we no longer need that many buildings. This proposal allows
the district to consolidate to two campuses. Kindergarten–6th grade would be in one building, and the second would serve 7th–12th grade. The project includes the demolition of the nearly 60-year-old Junior High, a building that is costly to maintain. This will allow us to improve efficiency and reduce overhead costs while providing students with better, safer learning environments.
