ALE Teacher
I am a 2003 graduate of Mansfield High School.
I graduated from Bellevue University in 2018.
Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science
I went through one of the non-traditional routes to becoming a teacher. The formerly known APPEL platform became ArPEP and it was through the successful completion of this program that I became a licensed teacher.
Currently, I am attending Grand Canyon University (Phoenix, AZ) and have three classes left until I graduate with a masters degree. When I complete it (hopefully end of 2023), I will receive a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood Special Education.
I teach the Alternative Education class at the elementary. Days can be challenging but so unbelievably rewarding! I started teaching at Mansfield in the fall of 2021. I have loved being back home and fulfilling the promises I made to myself when I was a little girl.
Previously I worked in the Fort Smith district for a few years as a Special Education Paraprofessional and an Interventionist Paraprofessional. I loved being part of such a great team and all the people that I met. It was an incredible experience that prepared me well beyond what I could’ve imagined.
Some folks might remember me from my Hobby Lobby days, I was there for over a decade so you know I don’t mind a little glitter!
I have three children. My son Kaden is 13 now, in the 8th grade, loves the military and is mostly a tech/roblox/gaming kind of guy. My whirly girlies, Maebree and Vivia have energy everlasting. Maebree is almost eight, starting 2nd grade this year and a force of nature with iron will. She loves volleyball, cheer, and completing challenges from youtube. Vivia is 5 years old and just started Kindergarten. She’s the tiny, sparkly dancer that dreams of unicorns and marshmallows. They keep me running to band, cheer, gymanstics and all the places in between. I love being their mama!
When I’m not teaching, I’m taking classes or trying to learn something new. I love to read but I spend most of my down time searching pinterest, google or youtube, trying out recipes, crafts, creating plans or teaching materials. The closest thing I have to a hobby is a never ending pile of laundry and dishes. Aside from that, I spend all my time with my children and family. You probably won’t ever catch me using social media, I’m not a fan. So, say hi when you see me out and about, I love to meet new people and see old friends!
