The Mansfield senior high volleyball team obtained something that most teams only dream of achieving. That was the opportunity to compete and win a state championship.
On October 30th at the class 2A State Tournament in Hot Springs, the Lady Tigers defeated conference rival LifeWay Christian in straight sets to win Back to Back State Championships. The time to celebrate in the cozy confines of Mansfield High School is finally here with the arrival of commemorative rings.
Volleyball players, managers, and coaches will receive their state rings in the presence of family, friends, and fans at halftime of the Mansfield versus Johnson County Westside senior high basketball game on Friday, February 4th. The approximate time for the ring ceremony will be around 7:30 pm.
Representatives from Weichert Realtors--The Griffin Company, Chambers Bank, Mansfield Chamber of Commerce, and River Valley Feed & Metal will assist in the distribution of rings as part of the corporate sponsor list. Other businesses that made contributions to the championship drive include Duck's Body Shop and Walters, Allison, Parker & Estell Law Firm.
Mansfield Superintendent Joe Staton, Principal Donnie Eveld, and Co-Athletic Director John Mackey will also assist in handing out rings.
Tiger fans are encouraged to come out and celebrate with the team as they slide the final pieces of the 2021 volleyball season on their collective fingers. The joyous recognition of Mansfield's two year stronghold on the 2A volleyball crown deserves as much.
