January 2025 has been designated as School Board Member Recognition Month, a time to honor the dedicated individuals who serve on school boards across Arkansas and contribute to the success of students and schools in our community.
School board members are vital to the strength of our public education system, volunteering their time and talents to ensure every student has access to a high-quality education. These individuals are locally elected leaders who represent the voices of students, families, and community members, working to shape the future of education in Arkansas.
“School board members are the foundation of our public schools,” said Joe Staton, Superintendent. “Their leadership and commitment ensure that our schools are well-equipped to meet the challenges of today and provide students with the opportunities they need to succeed in the future. This month is our chance to thank them for their hard work and dedication.”
Throughout the month of January, Mansfield School District will join districts across the state in recognizing the contributions of school board members. Events and activities planned include:
This month also serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the critical role school boards play in supporting student achievement and advancing educational initiatives.
Community members are encouraged to participate in recognizing their local school board members by attending events, sending thank-you notes, or sharing messages of appreciation on social media.
